If you’ve ever found yourself in this situation, don’t worry – this blog post will guide you through the process of downloading images from Pinterest in high quality so they are clear and crisp!
How To Download Pinterest Images In HD Quality
There are two ways to download the Pinterest images in HD:
Method-1: Click on the three dots and select “Download image”
To download the Pinterest images in HD, open the pin and click on the three dots. Now, select “Download image” to download the image in HD.
This method will work on the mobile app as well.
Here’s how to download the Pinterest images in HD:
1. Click on the three dots
The first step is to open the pin on your browser. Now, you’ll see three icons on the upper right hand of the pin; three dots, the share icon, and the copy pin link icon.
Click on the three dots to see the pin options.
2. Select “Download image”
After you click on the three dots, you’ll see four options in the menu; Download image, Hide Pin, Report Pin, and Get Pin embed code.
Select “Download image” to download the image in HD.
You can also simply right-click on the pin and select “Save image as…”. However, the downloaded image using this trick is of low quality.
Method-2: Use the built-in developer tools in your browser
To download Pinterest images in HD, you can use the developer tools in your browser. Simply right-click and select “Inspect” and choose the “Sources” tab. Now, expand the “i.pinimg.com” folder, then the “originals/…” folder. Click on the image in that folder. Right-click the preview on the right-hand side and choose “Save image as…”
Here’s how to download Pinterest images in HD using developer tools:
- Right-click and select “Inspect”
- Select the “Sources” tab
- Expand “i.pinimg.com”
- Expand “originals/…”
- Save the image

The first step is to open the pin on your browser. Now, right-click anywhere on the page and select “Inspect”

Windows: Control+Shift+I
Mac: Command+Option+C
2. Select the “Sources” tab
Now, select the “Sources” tab. If you don’t see the tab, simply click on the “>>” icon to see the available tabs. Select “Sources” from the list.
3. Expand “i.pinimg.com”
Now, you should see the file structure of the page.
The images are stored in a folder named “i.pinimg.com”.
Click on the arrow on the left side of the folder name to open the folder.
4. Expand “originals/…”
Since we want to download the image in HD quality, click on the “originals/…” folder.
If you don’t see the “originals/…” folder, simply refresh the page or open the pin in a private or incognito window and follow the steps.
5. Save the image
Now, you’ll see the original image file under the “originals/…” folder.
Click on the file to see the preview on the right-hand side.
After you see the preview, right-click on it and select “Save image as…” to save the image.
If you want to download the image in lower quality, select the desired resolution from the “i.pinimg.com” folder and download the image.
How to Download Images in HD from Pinterest on Mobile
To download the images in HD from Pinterest mobile app, open the pin in the Pinterest app and click on the three dots located on the top right and select “Download Image” to save the image

Many Pinterest users spend hours finding a way to download Pinterest images in HD quality. It’s something I was doing before writing this article.
After hours of searching for the correct way, I was able to download the image in HD and original resolution.
Of course, some online tools can do the same, but usually, they have annoying pop-ups forcing you to download some spammy software or they are full of advertisement banners.
Fortunately, with my methods, you can easily download the picture in HD without having to use those annoying tools.
