To disable Instagram’s DMs (Direct Messages), enter the Instagram settings and select the “Privacy” option. Select “Messages” and then “Others on Instagram.” After that, select “Do not receive requests.”

This will stop all the unwanted message requests from other people.

Proceed to the next stage by selecting “Settings.”

2. Select “Privacy”

After you open your Instagram settings, you’ll see the complete list of available settings.

Select “Privacy” and proceed to the next step.

Note: Disabling DM notifications will not stop anyone from messaging you.

3. Select “Messages”

Now you’ll see all the options related to interactions.

Select “Messages” to see your Message Control setting.

4. Check “Do not receive requests”

Select the first option under the category “Other persons” that says “Others on Instagram.”

Following that, two options will appear: Message requests and Do not receive requests.

By default, the “Message requests” option will be checked.

To prevent DM requests, select the second option “Do not receive requests.”

Now, you’ve successfully disabled all the DM requests from other people.
